Until recently, Avengers director Joss Whedon has been teasing audiences with information that two old characters will be introduced into the sequel to the blockbuster hit. All Whedon would say is that it’s “two of my favorite characters from the comic book.” However, we can now confirm that the brother-sister duo Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be added to the movie.
"You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers,” the director stated to IGN. "So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier."
Of course not, Joss Whedon, that would be too nice of you.
Marvel Studios is looking at Saoirse Ronan to play the part of Scarlet Witch, as for Quicksilver, there are no speculations.
It has been reported that Marvel may be having troubles bringing some of the ensemble cast; there have been questions as to whether or not Robert Downy Jr (Iron Man) will return. After some reports saying that he won’t, Jeremy Renner will be returning to the movie.
