In a move that should surprise no one in the gaming world, Warner Bros. will keep going with its line of Batman games with the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins as its next title. Arkham Origins will be the follow up to the breakout success that was 2009’s Batman: Arkham Asylum and Asylum City from Rocksteady Studios, according the May cover of Game Informer.
Arkham Origins will not be developed by Rocksteady though. Warner Bros. has given that honor to Warner Bros. Games Montreal. This may raise some concern among fans as Rocksteady is known in the gaming world as a company that fuses a lot of love and care into their games. Hopefully, the Montreal studio will give this latest game the same attention.
As far as what the game will actually entail, according to the Game Informer, the prequel will have a young Batman battling several assassins during Christmas Eve. Some of the assassins rumored to make an appearance are Deathstroke, Deadshot, and according to some images in Game Informer, Black Mask.
Arkham Origins has a planned release date of October 25, 2013 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U.
