Atlantis fans, you’ve got more to look forward to. It’s been renewed for a second season by BBC One.

This isn’t that much of a surprise, since the show premiered with the highest numbers any channel’s had since 2006. It averages at 7.6 million viewers for each of its episodes, which air on Saturday night.

Perhaps part of its success is its ability to relate to many audiences. “It’s definitely a great family show. I mean, I don’t know what age we’re playing for, but I would enjoy it, at my age,” said Sarah Parish, who plays Pasiphae in the show. “It’s just got something for everyone, really.”

That’s certainly true — the show has action, romance, and drama. Impressively, too. “Atlantis delivers original British drama with the kind of scale and ambition that we’ve come to expect from the cinema,” said Charlotte Moore, controller for the channel.

We’ll keep you updated as soon as there’s more information!
We do know that Atlantis will premiere on BBC America on November 23rd at 9pm after an encore broadcast of “The Day Of The Doctor.”
