Beck Pete Shares Self-Healing Anthem “Softie”

Alt-pop artist Beck Pete never ceases to disappoint. Greeting the new year on a high note, her newest hit “Softie” stemmed from introspective self-healing to a desire to heal those in the same boat. What was originally meant as a reaction to failed relationships, “Softie” manifests a desire to surround herself with love that actually honors, appreciates and respects her, however in order to find it, she must learn to love herself first.

Originally written alone in her room at a Lake Tahoe retreat, she chose to collaborate with music producer Jon Joseph to give the emotional single the anthemic quality that it deserves. The finishing touches to the track came courtesy of audio engineer Andy Park who gave the hard-hitting single its final “sparkle.”
