Staff WriterAccording to Eater, the Lazy Sunday is “based on the sketch of the same name that features comedians Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell professing their love for cupcakes. Appropriately, the flavor features both chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces,” while Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is “both chocolate and sweet cream ice cream mixed with caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds, and a marshmallow swirl. The flavor is inspired by the SNL character made famous by actress Kristen Wiig. Both of them sound way better than the (imaginary)Ron Swanson flavor featuring scotch ice cream with bacon and eggs.” Although these flavors are not being sold in grocery stores, you can stop by any of the Ben and Jerry’s scoop shops and try the new flavors out. A recent press release revealed that two more flavors based on Saturday Night Live will be released in honor of the show's 40th anniversary. The release date of these flavors has yet to be determined. Ben and Jerry’s have had many different flavors based on different movies/tv show/actors over the years. Some of them include flavors from Rob Burgundy, 30 Rock and old SNL sketches. These flavors are now available at the Ben and Jerry’s scoop shops. So which flavor are you most excited to try?
