File this one under almost not surprised. When H&M first announced that Beyonce was to be the new lead of their ads, the world might have been caught off guard but secretly pleased as the singer’s body is one of the most realistic and definitely worthy of being a healthy role model for women everywhere.
According to The Sun, however, the brand tried to downplay Beyonce’s curvacious body by photoshopping her body to fit their “ideal type”. In true diva fashion, according to The Sun, Queen Bey was most displeased and demanded they restore her pictures to their true form or she was out.
H&M denies these allegations made by The Sun.”Beyoncé was our first choice for this campaign and we were delighted when she said yes,” H&M released in a statement of defense. “Our purpose has always been to portray Beyoncé as the strong and beautiful woman she is. It has been a good working process and a close cooperation. Both parties are happy with the images.”
Beyonce’s ads for the fashion retailer started running April. She continues to grace its ads and commercials to this day.
