According to a recent report by Fox News, a Central California ranch home owned by Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki was recently destroyed by the wildfire that has been raging in the San Luis Obispo area since Monday. Thankfully, Galecki was not at the home at the time of the fire, and no one was hurt, though the fire caused extensive, likely irreparable damage.
According to a story by TMZ, the property, located just under 200 miles north of Los Angeles, was Galecki's self-proclaimed "getaway place."
Galecki also released a statement to TMZ, in which he expressed his thanks to the firefighters on the scene and his remorse for everyone currently involved in the natural disaster.
"My heart goes out to all in the area who are also experiencing loss from this vicious fire, the threat of which we live with constantly, which may seem crazy to some but we do so because living in our beautiful, rural area makes it worthwhile," Galecki said.
"Endless thanks to CalFire and the Sheriff's Office," he added, "I know you guys are fighting the good fight to keep us safe. So very relieved no one has been hurt."
Over 250 residents in the Santa Margarita area were evacuated from their homes as emergency response teams continued to work to control the blaze, but by Tuesday night, they were told they could return. As of Tuesday night, the 2.5 square mile wildfire was reported to have been 60% contained.
Johnny Galecki has not visited or seen the destroyed home since the fire, but has stated he plans to return to the property soon in order to salvage as much of his possessions as possible, if anything, TMZ reports.
Galecki has starred as Dr. Leonard Hofstadter on the hit CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory since the series premiered in 2007.
