This year’s edition of the iTunes Festival will have some of its biggest headliners to date, such as Justin Timberlake, Avicii, Arctic Monkeys, Katy Perry and many more. It will kick off with one of its biggest performances to date, as well: Lady Gaga.
She gave the world a little taste of what to expect when she opened the VMA’s show just last weekend, performing her newest single “Applause.”
Ever since she recovered from her hip surgery earlier this year, she has been cooking up brand new music and acts, rising as a phoenix from the ashes.
Its so crazy feeling all my muscles wake up back up again! Rehearsal in London has been so fun, I missed performing and can’t wait till Sun!— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) August 30, 2013
The Mother Monster has taken it to her social networks - Twitter, Instagram and LittleMonsters.Com - to get her fans as excited as she is for this Sunday’s performance on the #SwineFest, as she’s named it. She’s posted pictures and little videos, showing a Gaga like we’ve never seen her before. Her dear friend, main producer of ARTPOP, and one of the biggest DJ’s in the world right now, Paul Blair a.k.a. DJ White Shadow, will be opening for her.
Way to go monsters! Applause is climbing thanks to capital Y-O-U! Im having such a good time planning #Swinefest, + it’s just the 1st one! x— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) August 28, 2013
As if this wasn’t enough to make a fan base go bananas, she revealed she would be putting on a show packed with 5 to 6 brand new songs, among which we can find “Applause” and the much hyped third part to her Paparazzi/Telephone saga.
Watch Gaga and her crew rehearsing for this Sunday in the video below. She is seen performing another brand new song, “Swine,” hence the #SwineFest title. Gaga lets her rocker soul out to bang the drums while playing the keyboard at the same time to a metal-grunge driven melody. In it, she sings about the haters in her life, how she knows they want her. She specifically talks about a man, saying he’s just a “pig inside a human body.”
