The women will have their turn to speak. NBC announced today that 27 of the women who have accused Bill Cosby of rape will appear on the October 9 episode of Dateline.
Kate Snow will sit with the alleged victims, who will share their stories. Snow will also speak with the women, who range from 46 to 80 years old, about the doubt that many feel about their accusations.
In addition to the 27 women who will speak with Snow, attorney Gloria Allred will appear on the program to represent a group of accusers known as the “Jane Does,” a group of women who came forward back in 2005.
There have been a few excerpts from the special that have been released by NBC, including features from models Beverly Johnson and Lise-Lotte Lublin and actresses Eden Tirl and Sunni Welles.
Many of the women report that appearing on the show has helped them immensely. Lublin states:
This is the safest, most accepted, group of women that we can talk to. There’s nothing greater than that, and more healing, than to just walk up to them and be accepted immediately. And for me, it’s powerful and it’s beautiful, and I’m so glad that I have it.
The special will air on NBC this Friday at 9:00 PM ET.
