Binge Watching Tips From An Expert Binge Watcher

So you want to survive that six-season-long series in a single sitting? From one expert binge watcher, here are some binge watching tips.

So you want to be a binge watcher, but every time you sit down to watch that series you’ve been dying to see, you only get two episodes in before you wave the white flag and surrender the battle. Binge watching isn’t for the faint of heart, but if you want to survive that six-season-long series in a single sitting, you’ve got to push through. But don’t worry: from one expert binge watcher to her protégé, here are some tips.

Choose Wisely, Young Grasshopper

This is an important one. Nothing is worse than sitting down and being ready for that binge watch but suddenly realizing that the series you’re watching isn’t as interesting as you had anticipated. It’s a total buzzkill. So before you plan a binge watch, make sure you choose a show that’s interesting and will keep you hooked.

Free Yourself

Have zero plans. Have a clear schedule. No lunch dates with friends or grocery shopping. No worries mean that you’ll be more focused on what you’re watching and more likely to finish that binge watch in a single sitting.

Energy Drink

Sitting around all day isn’t easy, it can actually be quite exhausting, especially when you’re sitting around for hours on end glued to the screen of your TV or laptop. So have an energy drink — or two, or three, or four — on standby. Whether it’s coffee or Red Bull, make sure it’s handy. But also don’t forget the water! You need to stay hydrated.

Snacks

Lots and lots of snacks. Stock up. Have them scattered across the coffee table or the nightstand next to your bed. You don’t want to get halfway through an epic storyline and have to pause because your stomach is yelling at you for food.

Comfort

Comfort is key to embark on this journey. Comfy clothes. Comfy place to sit and/or lie. Yoga pants, sweatpants, shorts — whatever you’re most comfortable in. Gather all of the pillows and blankets and make yourself a binge watching fortress. Just keep comfort in mind.

Take A Break

“A what?! But we’re supposed to be BINGE WATCHING!”

Okay, okay, this sounds a little counterproductive. We here at PopWrapped like to consider binge watching a sport, but let’s not forget to get up and move around a little. Leg cramps are serious, and it’s nice to give your eyes a break from the screen. Plus, moving around for a few minutes can give you that boost of energy you need to finish that season!

And with that, we wish you the best of luck on your next binge watching excursion! What show are you planning to watch?
