What’s the meaning of love if there’s no trust? That’s the message behind rising new artist, Brandon Colbein’s latest single release, “I.D.C.A.L.”

A heartfelt and intimate story told with flavor and swagger about being cheated on and the personal journey that ensues, the song begins with an innovative synth and bass line, courtesy of producer, Evan Gartner that sounds like it could have been pitched down from Brandon’s voice himself with a counter melody that sets the pace for a turbulent but enjoyable ride.

The lyrics and melodies are casual and conversational, suggesting they’ve been lifted from real life conversations, “this song is a word for word interpretation of when I was cheated on by my partner.

“If I can’t have your trust, I don’t care about love. Point blank.” We all need our ego to step in to be firm and say ‘enough is enough’, but we know it is not that simple. And beneath that hard, unyielding exterior is where the dilemma lies. That true love is in and of itself a contradiction.

Equally important to his journey is that of his fans, “the song allows the listener to sympathize with being cheated on and still feeling empowered. I want people to move through their emotions while understanding that it is not ok to give your trust to a loved one and not receive it back. If so you’re better on your own.” Colbein explains.

It’s no secret than none of us are perfect with it comes to love, relationships, and let’s be honest, life in general. & while times are crazy outside our front doors, Brandon finds time to make us feel warm and his music takes our minds off what is going on outside.
