After the recent announcement that both Michael Keaton and JK Simmons had pulled out of the film due to other commitments, King King: Skull Island finally has a female lead.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, actress Brie Larson, perhaps best known for roles in Trainwreck and 21 Jump Street, posted this picture which confirmed her place in the cast:

Ever the gentleman, confirmed cast-mate Tom Hiddleston replied with a message of his own, welcoming her on board the project.

As yet, there has been no confirmation as to who might replace Simmons and Keaton, although rumours suggest that Samuel L. Jackson and Russell Crowe are both in contention.
King Kong: Skull Island is set to open in theaters on March 10 2017.
