'Love Never Dies’, the sequel to ‘The Phantom Of The Opera’ is to return to the UK!
Producers David Ian and Michael Harrison are planning to stage a new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s show, with an extensive UK tour beginning in late February 2014. In an interview with Playbill.com, Ian revealed there are currently 75 to 80 weeks being booked. He added that if the tour is successful, there is the prospect of the production returning to the West End, as well as hopes to take it to other territories, including North America and the Far East.
Ian and Harrison, the producers of ‘The Bodyguard’, which is currently running at London’s Adelphi Theatre, will use the adapted Australian version of the show as the basis for their production. The Australian show, starring Ben Lewis as the Phantom and Anna O’Byrne as Christine, opened in Melbourne in May 2011, before moving to Sydney in December of the same year, and was subsequently filmed to be released on DVD.
No casting has yet been announced for the UK tour.
