Bryan Singer Reveals More Of X-Men: Days of Future Past Plot

Well, we now know a little bit more about the story involved in X-Men: Days of Future Past. It will take place a decade after the previous two films (chronologically in the X-Men universe) were set. In other words, as director Bryan Singer put it to Empire magazine, “It takes place about ten years, give or take, after X-Men 3, and in the past it takes place about ten years after First Class.”

Because of the time travel aspect of Days of Future Past, we’ll get to see all of our favorite mutants in one film – and in some cases there will be more than one of them! We will, of course, get young and old Magneto (Michael Fassbender and Sir Ian McKellan, respectively) as well as young and old Professor X (James McAvoy and Sir Patrick Stewart, respectively).

We have to wonder, though: will we get to see a young Wolverine/old Wolverine scene? As Hugh Jackman’s character is essentially immortal, we imagine that could be hilarious, since they would be basically identical (including identical grumpy grimaces).

In addition to Jackman and Sirs Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan, we’ll get a few other familiar faces that we haven’t seen in a while. Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Anna Paquin, and Ellen Page will be reprising their iconic roles from the first three X-Men films (Storm, Iceman, Rogue, and Kitty Pryde). From what we understand, Page’s role will be vital to the plot of Days of Futures Past.

There is some new talent added to the roster this time around. Omar Sy previously gained international acclaim for his performance in the French film Intouchables, and in this film he’ll be playing Bishop. Peter Dinklage, the award-winning Game of Thrones actor, takes his turn as the film’s main villain, Bolivar Trask. Fan Binging will step into the role of Clarice Ferguson, aka Blink. She is best known for her appearance in another Marvel film, Iron Man 3. American Horror Story’s own Evan Peters will be hitting the big screen with Days of Future Past as the popular character Quicksilver.

Of course, we’ll also get repeat performances from Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, and Lucas Till as Havoc.
