Caleb Hearn Shares EP “We’re Getting Older” with A Vulnerable Touch

Across TikTok, 22-year-old Caleb Hearn has been focusing on building his artistry. He’s debuted into the world with the release of his new EP “We’re Getting Older” along with his recent single “Believe It When You See It.”

Believe It When I See It” is about a relationship where I felt like I was constantly putting in effort but never receiving any in return. I kept trying to convince myself that things might work out, even though time showed me things clearly weren’t working. I realized that the only way to know that the relationship wasn’t one-sided was to “believe it when I see it.” The song reminds me that connection with others should go both ways,” tells Caleb.

With songs about relationships at the narrative crossroads, the artist is taking advantage of young love and learning from missed opportunities and turning them into lyrics.

The EP features previous releases “We’re Getting Older” and “Friend Right Now” along with never heard before tracks “It Wasn’t Me At All” and “She’s Everything That I’ve Ever Wanted.”

The EP as a whole is cool because it follows an outline of my life for the first 8 months of my time in Nashville. During that period, I was going through some tough stuff and was trying to figure out how to grow up and cope with everything I was feeling. I started writing songs during significant events as if they were journal entries, and these songs eventually became the EP. While the EP definitely has a lot of lessons about growing from tough relationships, there are also messages about letting time heal things and accepting things for what they are,” tells Caleb.

The EP not only showcases Caleb’s needs within the industry, but it also showcases who he is as an artist. Each track holds onto something special to every listener can relate to.

Just like with “Believe It When I See It,” there was no pressure to be raw and vulnerable on the EP. Instead of going into my sessions with the idea that I needed to write a good song, I told myself that the session would be a creative outlet and a time to let out what I was feeling. This took the pressure off making my songs perfect and instead just allowed me to reflect on what I was going through,” tells Caleb.
