Justin Bieber has been the focus of some unflattering press lately. Bieber’s recent antics have included arriving over two hours late for a recent concert, a hit and run claim as well as many other car related incidents, and claiming that Anne Frank would have been a "Belieber."
Jepsen who, like Bieber, is managed by Scooter Braun, and has toured with the young superstar, believes that Bieber is being unfairly persecuted. In a recent interview with Billboard, the “Call Me Maybe” singer admitted that many of the occurrences have happened without her even knowing about it.
"I actually am so out of the loop on any of that, to be honest," she admitted. "People are constantly, like, ‘Is Justin okay?’ I’ve not really noticed any of that.
"I feel like Justin’s a guy who’s working hard every day, and I think the media can sometimes be a little brutal with stuff and over-exaggerate things.
"But I stand by him. I support him. I think he’s a good guy, and he’s doing the best he can."
Jepsen also touched on her forthcoming studio album, giving hints that it will be a bit more folky that we might expect.
“[It’s] a pop album, but… an album that is my own version of pop. I can kind of explain it in some ways, and in other ways I’d rather not and let myself go in and create it,” she said.
Lastly, Jepsen has also recently revealed that there will be a surprise on her upcoming Diamond Edition re-release of her smash album Kiss later this year. She will be covering Disney’s “Part of Your World” from the popular princess movie, The Little Mermaid.
