It may have been less than a week since the confetti shower hit our latest Idol winner, but Candice Glover is about ready to hit the studio to record her debut album.
Her debut album, Music Speaks, will be dropped on July 16 and will feature ten tracks including her first single: “I Am Beautiful.”
In an interview with MTV News, the 23-year-old St. Helena native stated that two names top her collaboration wish list.
“I would love if Drake or the Weeknd would be on my album! I’ve been trying to reach out and get that done, as much as I can; I don’t have any authority.” Glover said. “ I can’t demand Drake to be on my album, he’s been in the game for so long; but, I’m definitely going to try. That would be amazing!”
Glover, who is a longtime Drake fan, received the shock of her life when the rapper surprised her during “The Top 4 Results Show” on the long-running FOX singing competition.
“I was so honored that you sang my song and you did such an incredible job.” Drake said. “ You have an angelic voice. (I) almost wish you were there in the studio creating with me.”
Glover also hinted to the Associated Press that her album would be “a mix of R&B, soul and little bit of Jazz.”
In addition to recording her album, the American Idol winner will join 10 of her fellow competitors on a 40-city concert tour that will include stops in St. Louis, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville and Miami.
