Cannon Unveils The Video For His New Single “Conversations”

With several of his previous releases having made numerous Spotify playlists, thus earning him a steady and growing fan-base, Cannon, a 21-year old independent singer song-writer who hails from South Carolina, knows what it takes to make an impact in the ever tough and cut-throat business of which he’s a part. Having honed his craft while performing at open mic nights with his acoustic guitar, he’s long since known that music was THE path for him to take and his latest single “Conversations”, the video for which PopWrapped are delighted to premiere, is one of his best to date.

The track, which addresses the reality that so many of us can and do ignore our personal issues, instead preferring to behave and act like we don’t have them or that they don’t affect us, brings together several elements of Cannon’s previous releases, blending R&B, indie and electro sounds with honest and emotive lyrics delivered with the warmth that is a highlight of Cannon’s talent.

When it comes to the story of and meaning behind the track, Cannon says: “Conversations” is about ignoring our personal issues for the sake of feeling like we don’t have them. It’s easier to turn to quick tricks to feel better or ignore feeling bad entirely than to really consider and engage with how we feel. There’s a really important difference between talking and having a conversation, whether it’s with ourselves or with others—and this song is emphasizing that difference. It’s easy to talk, but it’s hard to really engage with something enough to actually have a conversation. “Conversations” shows someone not engaging — they tell themselves they’re trying but they’re not really. They’re lying.”
