For a better part of my childhood, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? taught me, and countless others, geography through a series of fun, educational computer games and subsequent PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) game-show.
According to Leakynews.com, PBS has hinted that it wants to bring back the show in some capacity.
The original series, which aired on PBS from 1991 to 1996, tested young contestant’s (aka gumshoes) on their knowledge of geography as they track Carmen Sandiego across the globe. The show featured the late Lynne Thigpen as The Chief (essentially the show’s host) and was also known for its very catchy theme song.
Though there are no episodes being planned, PBS teased with a Twitter post from “Carmen” that they may be re-airing old episodes; PBS’s Tumblr and Instagram accounts are also hinting that we should get ready to start chasing Carmen around the world once again!
Check out an episode from the original series!
