As a Berklee College of Music graduate and having been a regular performer across the Northeastern states for the past ten years together with being a top 40 finalist on Season 13 of American Idol, Casey McQuillen is no stranger to the music world.
Since well and truly bursting onto the music scene with her first album, Enough, in 2010, Casey has worked long and hard to create catchy, melancholy songs that showcase her incredibly powerful voice. Writing songs about love, heartbreak and the joys and pain that life can throw at us all, she's earned herself a growing army of fans who identify with her and the issues she sings so passionately about.
To date, she has amassed more than a million hits on her YouTube channel and founded a charity program called the "You Matter" tour, encouraging students and young people everywhere to talk about positive self image, respect and the power of having a good, strong work ethic. Always keen to use her celebrity status to do good, 2016 is most certainly shaping up to be her busiest and best year yet.
Prior to the release of her new EP, Beautiful, later this year, she's now giving fans a little taste of what to expect from the collection with the release of her latest track "Come Back To Me."
The track opens with a short, soulful instrumental, the stripped back musicianship allowing Casey's smooth vocal to take centre stage, while I dare you to try and resist tapping your feet or swaying along to the rhythm. By the chorus, she proves herself to be a powerhouse of a talent, hitting notes that some artists despite having had twice the career she's had so far struggle to hit -- be prepared when you hear this to be seriously impressed.
