As Digital Spy (and others) reported in early April, veteran actor/director/all-around good guy Robert Redford will play a character higher up in the S.H.I.E.L.D. chain of command than Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury. Now we find out who some of the other people in the organisation will be – albeit, without names, but at least we have faces.
The most familiar is England’s Jenny Agutter, already seen in The Avengers, who will continue to represent the World Security Council.
New Zealand actor Alan Dale will seem familiar to viewers of Lost, 24, Hot in Cleveland, Once Upon a Time, Ugly Betty, The O.C., Entourage – so, television viewers in general, and specifics about his role in the film have yet to be announced.
Sri Lankan-born Bernard White, who has had guest roles on TV shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Castle, and The Good Wife) will be playing “Indian Council Member,” so again, specifics aplenty.
The final person announced as being part of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team is the youngest of the lot, Singapore-born Chin Han, who most recently appeared in a handful of episodes of Arrow, the cancelled Last Resort as well as films like The Dark Knight and Contagion. As with Alan Dale, no further information has been released as yet.
All in all, a collection of fine dramatic actors from all over the world and four more reasons to look forward to the opening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014.
