Listen up Anne Rice fans! CBS is hoping that they are able to turn the novel Angel Time into a television series.
Angel Time was released in 2009. It is the first book in Rice’s Songs of Seraphim series. The book tells the story of an assassin who has a very dark and tragic past but finds a possible way to redeem himself and save lives rather than take them. While in the book, the assassin is sent back in time for redemption to thirteenth century England, the adaptation will take place in the history Mission Inn in Riverside, CA.
So far CBS have only ordered a script from Liz Garcia and Joshua Harto (Memphis Beat) that will be based on the novel. Rice herself will serve as an executive producer on the project alongside Sarah Timberman (Masters of Sex), Carl Beverly (Unforgettable) and Joe Carnahan (The A-Team).
If the project does get picked up and a pilot is ordered, executive producer Joe Carnahan will be directing that particular episode.
It’s been about twelve years since the last Anne Rice novel was adapted for television. That one being her 1979 tome The Feast of All Saints which aired as a Showtime original miniseries.
