CC Clarke has many accolades – famed beauty guru, mother, talented singer songwriter. In this new release, it’s her powerful vocals that really shine. Today, PopWrapped are delighted to premiere the acoustic edit of her track “Back To You.” By stripping the song down, the passion in CC’s voice is clearer than ever and the elegant piano backing brings a simplicity that highlights the beauty of the lyrics.

She says of the song: “‘Back To You’ is all about finding your way back to what’s meant for you, what feels right. When I initially wrote the song, in 2019, I was in Copenhagen and missing my husband Buzzy who was back home.”

CC Clarke’s songwriting talents date all the way back to her childhood, when her parents would read her lyrics and were convinced she was copying them from poems. Now, that talent is one of her most genuine strengths and it’s her songwriting that makes her music truly stand out.

The story of “Back To You” also stems from personal experience. At the time of writing, traveling a lot for her music and being away from her husband was difficult. But in 2020, notably as the pandemic hit and many found themselves separated from family and friends, she realized the song had taken on a whole new meaning. This new version of “Back To You” lets the listener really sink into the lyrics and find inspiration in a difficult time.

“I’d like to think that the song has been uplifting in what felt like an eternity of being away from loved ones, and the things that make us feel the most ourselves,” explains CC. “I’m so glad that the song has resonated with people and it’s given me so much more inspiration to get back into the studio.”
