Celine Dion knows a thing or two about having a residency show in Sin City. With Britney Spears set to start her two-year residency show, Britney: Piece of Me, on December 27 at the PH Live Theatre at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, Celine was asked if she wanted to give any advice to the pop star.
“What I wish for her, especially as a mother, is for her to find wonderful people who can help her find a balance between the artist that she is and the mother,” Dion told ET Canada. “Try to find an emotional balance to cope with those two and be the best of both worlds. I think she can really do it!”
Of course, Celine knows Britney’s been in the business long enough and doesn’t need too much advice. “She’s been there, she’s been on stage, she’s shook it all out! She’s very talented and knows exactly what to do.”
Britney and her team have confirmed she will be singing live during her shows, with Britney saying, “I’m very ready for this.” With 73,600 tickets available for the first 16 shows, almost 71,000 of them have sold, making Britney: Piece of Me the best-selling Vegas show.
Celine’s first residency, A New Day… ran from 2003-2007. During the five year stint, she performed 700 shows in front of three million people. Her current show, Celine, started in 2011, and is set to run until 2019 at the Colesseum at Caesars Palace, with 70 shows being performed each year.
