Republican candidate and notable asshole Donald Trump is still at it.
Speaking at a rally in Sun City, South Carolina earlier today, Trump opted to tell the crowd a bit about their senator, Lindsey Graham. He began by pointing out that Graham had sought a political donation from Trump last year. His motivation for pointing out something that seems perfectly logical is unclear. Republicans, and pretty much every other politician ever, seek campaign funds from the wealthy all the time.
Trump followed this up by telling them that Graham “doesn’t seem like a very bright guy”. He then rattled off a phone number while pulling a piece of paper out of his pocket. The number began with a Washington, D.C. area code, and Trump alleged it was Graham’s. Time and CBC News confirmed that the number belonged to Graham’s cell phone, which was reportedly full after Trump’s disclosure.
Trump’s appalling action is just one in a long line of many that appear to be driven out of spite, rather than political motivation. Prior to the rally, Graham spoke to CBS about Trump’s comments regarding John McCain. Graham wasn’t, at that time anyway, calling for Trump to withdraw from the race. He simply wanted trump to “just stop being a jackass”. Don’t we all, Lindsey.
Graham’s response to the privacy violation was surprisingly playful, tweeting:
Probably getting a new phone. iPhone or Android?

His campaign manager released a more formal statement, echoing the feelings of many others that Trump isn’t fit to be President:

Trump still, somehow, has a tremendous amount of supporters and has consistently topped poll after poll. That, in and of itself, presents a terrifying prospect – that there are a large number of people who share his dangerous and bigoted views. Trump is a bully with an audience, and it’s starting to become unsettling.
