Staff WriterHow do these superstars decide on the perfect tracklisting? Well Cher's answer is to jump on a trampoline. At least that's how she organised the tracklisting for her latest LP, Closer To The Truth. The new record is Cher's 26th studio album, so this time round she was well-versed in the art of ordering tracks, particularly with an album of such eclectic genres. Chatting about the tracklisting to Metro, earlier this week, Cher described that: "It's very varied, it's very me. I wanted to do it how I like to listen to music, where all of the 'up' music is together, then you bring in different shades." While thinking about the order, Cher went on to explain, "I'd jump on a trampoline for aerobics and listen to it every day, changing things around until it finally worked." Cher also revealed her opinionated nature when it comes to the lyrics of her songs. She claimed that she's often asked songwriters to alter the second verse so that she doesn't have to be heartbroken for an entire track. It is this insistence that has turned many of her hits into empowering numbers.
We most recently saw Cher perform on The X Factor Results Show this past weekend where she blew everybody away with a powerful rendition of "I Hope You Find It".
