Actor and singer Cheyenne Jackson has opened up regarding his recent split from his husband Monte Lapka. After getting married in New York, the two were together for just under two years before they filed for divorce.
The pair’s split was “amicable,” Cheyenne shared on The Frank DeCaro Show.
He said, “It’s a sad thing anytime a relationship ends. It was mutual, amicable, he’s a wonderful man,” reports DigitalSpy.
In lighter news, Jackson also revealed why it is that he has been sporting more facial hair then usual after the split.
“I do have a mustache, but it’s for the new Ira Sachs movie [Love Is Strange] with Alfred Molina and Marissa Tomei and John Lithgow, so that’s what that’s for,” said the ex 30 Rock star.
DigitalSpy reports that Jackson also shared a little something about his new tattoo. He divulged, “I do have a new tattoo, and it’s personal. I’m happy to tell [the story behind it] now because it’s out there, but you know, it’s for my dad.”
He further explained how his new tattoo incorporates lyrics from an Elvis Presley song that his father used to sing to him when he was a child.
Our admiration goes out to Jackson for being so open, and ultimately gracious about the situation. It’s commendable how he spoke professionally and tastefully. Also, what an awesome tattoo.
