Director Michael Bay announced on his official website that a new star will be joining Transformers 4. Han Geng, a Chinese singer and actor, will be seen on the big screen alongside Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor and Stanley Tucci in the fourth movie in the franchise.
Bay didn’t reveal what role Han is set to play, but he had good things to say about the new addition: “He’s one of Asia’s top stars in the worlds of music, television and movies and has become one of the most influential entertainers in China,” he wrote.
Geng also took to twitter to showcase his excitement for the role. “I’m very excited to join the family of Transformers movie. Thanks to Michael Bay, Paramount, Jiaflix, and China Movie Channel!”
He is known around China as the “Dancing King” and “King of Popularity” and has won numerous awards for his acting, singing and dancing.
The Transformers sequel is currently filming in both the US and China and is set for a June 27 2014 release.
