From Wonder Woman to Camelot!
Continuing to cement his status as the Best Chris in Hollywood, Chris Pine will soon be heading to Hulu. The Star Trek reboot’s leading man is set to play the late senator and presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy in a limited series.
This new series is being based on the 2016 book Bobby Kennedy: The Making of a Liberal Icon, by Larry Tye. According to David Nasaw of The New York Times Book Review, “[Tye] presents us…with a kind of bildungsroman of a young, privileged man who is forced to learn on the job and makes mistakes. …We are in Larry Tye’s debt for bringing back to life the young presidential candidate who…for a brief moment, almost half a century ago, instilled hope for the future…”
Chris Pine: From the Big Screen to Streaming and Back Again
With the blockbuster success of this summer’s Wonder Woman, Chris Pine, who played the superheroine’s love interest, Steve Trevor, has been flexing his acting chops in a host of varied project choices. This summer he returned to the second season of Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer reboot (Ten Years Later) and guest-starred on three episodes of Rashida Jones’ TNT comedy, Angie Tribeca. He’s also signed on for a fourth stint as Captain James T. Kirk in another Star Trek film, following last summer’s Star Trek: Beyond. And next year, he’ll be traversing space and time in Ava Duvernay’s bid-budget, big-screen adaptation of the classic novel A Wrinkle in Time, co-starring with Oprah, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling.

Currently, Pine is in Scotland playing Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, in the medieval Netflix film Outlaw King, in which he co-stars with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and is reuniting with his Hell or High Water director, David Mackenzie. He will also be teaming up again with Wonder Woman’s director, Patty Jenkins, for the TNT miniseries One Day She’ll Darken.
With such a diverse roster of projects in the works, it’s clear that Chris Pine is embracing his moment and proving he’s worthy of the title of Standout Hollywood Chris. And Hollywood Chris with the Best Pipes.
