Chris Pine Is More Than Willing To Do ‘Princess Diaries 3’

Although Anne Hathaway isn’t prepared to reclaim her title as queen of Genovia, Actor Chris Pine is far from opposed to return to Princess Diaries!

Chris Pine is famous nowadays as an action hero and for playing Captain Kirk in the Star Trek reboot films, b

ut before he began traversing the final frontier the actor played Lord Nicholas Devereaux, love interest and rival for the throne of Anne Hathaway’s Princess Mia, in the Princess Diaries 2: A Royal Engagement.

Star Trek may have catapulted him to super stardom but it was the Princess Diaries that first got his name out there. It does not seem strange that Pine would look at that time of his life with a certain fondness.

And it may even translate to him starring in a sequel if he had anything to do with the final decision. In a recent Tumblr Q and A, the movie star was asked by a fan “Don’t you pray every night for a Princess Diaries 3??? BECAUSE I DO”

To which he promptly replied “Have you been reading my diary???”

But then again you can’t have The Princess Diaries, without the actual Princess , right?

Unfortunately Anne Hathaway is less keen to reprise the role which made her famous . In a 2013 Glamour interview, the Oscar winning actress was pretty candid with the difficulty of being a typecast as a good girl.

“After Princess Diaries, I was labeled a good girl, and for the first eight years of my career I had to fight to get any other kind of role.” Hathaway said.

Dame Julie Andrews who played Queen Clarisse seemed aware of her co-star’s state of mind, as she also did rule out a sequel because of this. ‘I would never say no because Disney’s so wonderfully clever and inventive, but I would think they’ll stay with just the two because of Annie (Hathaway)” she said.

Well if Anne Hathaway is out, maybe a spin-off could work? I mean Chris Pine and Julie Andrews are willing to reprise their roles.

What do you think? Would you be interested in seeing Chris Pine return as royalty?
