Okay, okay, okay. Lifetime made-for-TV-movies have a reputation for being kind of…you know. Not awesome. But this one they’ve got coming down the pipeline actually sounds like it could be pretty cool.

We know there’s the upcoming Anna Nicole Smith biopic, which actually looks kind of good, but that’s not what I’m talking about. It was announced today that Christina Ricci has signed on to play the one and only Lizzie Borden!

Just to refresh your memory, Lizzie Borden was a woman who was accused of murdering her parents with an axe in the 1800s. I, personally, can’t think of anyone I’d rather see wielding an axe in Victorian-era dress than Christina Ricci.

Judith Verno will hop on board to produce the feature after she finishes a number of projects, including the buzzed-about Lifetime Jodi Arias movie.

Of course, this is not the only biographical project about Lizzie Borden that’s in the works. HBO is producing its own – a miniseries starring Chloe Sevigny as the titular character.

Who do you think will make the better Borden, Christina or Chloe?
