It’s been a week of giddy anticipation for Marvel fans.
S.H.I.E.L.D., the television show created by Avengers writer/director and cult TV god Joss Whedon, has started production this week on its highly anticipated pilot episode.
Now, however, it appears that not one, but two agents familiar to fans from the Marvel Cinematic Universe would appear in the TV series. Cobie Smulders of How I Met Your Mother fame is also in talks to appear in the television series as Agent Maria Hill as well as reprise her role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier in 2014.
“The commitments to How I Met Your Mother don’t really affect it,” Smulders said in an interview with I Am Rogue, “And I can’t really say, but there are definite talks about it.”
Seeing Agent Hill appear in S.H.I.E.L.D would be pretty cool, but most fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Agent Phil Coulson (#coulsonlives) since it was confirmed that Clark Gregg would headline the series. The events of S.H.I.E.L.D. have also been confirmed as following the events of the Avengers movie. So everyone is dying to figure out how exactly Coulson survived Loki’s attack.
Now all we need is Samuel L. Jackson to reprise his role as S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury and then lives will definitely be completed. Jackson has gone on record saying that he is definitely wants to appear on the show but nothing has happened on that front. Yet.
