Cole Norton, a singer and pianist from Ontario Canada, now residing in Oklahoma City and recent graduate of Okalahoma State University just dropped a stunning new single, “Run”. After going viral with his covers of Shawn Mendes, it was no secret that music was going to be Cole’s saving grace.

Cole then took a career path change, switching from Track and Field, to music – Cole began starting to see small successes that further confirmed that music was the route he was destined to go down. Though he didn’t make it through, Cole received a callback with NBC’s hit show, The Voice. (I’m sure they wish they had took him on, now).

Though he began to feel defeated, that didn’t stop him from chasing his dream of becoming (and succeeding) as a musician. Him and his producer Ezequiel went back to Dallas and they began working even harder to be heard. Now with a massive platform, Norton is making a name for himself in music & we’re so stoked to see where music continues to take him.

This new artist quickly on the rise is no doubt a force to be reckoned with not only in the independent artistry aspect, but honestly, the music industry as a whole. Cole embodies a beautiful voice, stellar lyricism, and that’s something that we can really appreciate.

“My latest release “Run” can be looked at from the usual perspective of someone who keeps running back to a person despite the pain that that person always causes them in the end, but I prefer looking at the lyrics from the perspective of someone who’s gotten stuck in a routine of making unhealthy decisions in order to avoid responsibility and life’s challenges.” Cole explained.

“I myself (as well as many others) found it hard to cope with our new reality during this last year and as a result made decisions that haven’t been the best for my mental or physical health. Despite knowing the consequences, I would still find myself making those poor choices, hence the lyric “Giving up is easier than hanging on to hope”. This song is very true to my own life story, so I hope some people will see it as more than just another love song.” Cole went on to say.
