He was one of the favourites on season 11 of American Idol and now Colton Dixon will make his return to the show that made him a household name on next week’s results show, March 28th.

The singer wouldn’t say what song he’ll be performing on the show, just that it will be a high-energy experience. But he does give credit where credit is due to this season finalist, Angie Miller. She performed Dixon’s song “Never Gone” as part of the theme week, “Past Idols.” Her cover of the song saw Dixon’s iTunes sales grow dramatically, from a couple hundred to over 9,000 downloads. Such a sales jump just goes to show that American Idol still does have some pull when it comes to music sales.

So what is Colton Dixon up to besides his Idol appearance? He’s out on the road opening for Christian Rock band Third Day. If you want to check out Colton out on the road here are the upcoming dates:

March 23rd – Cambria County War Memorial (Johnstown, PA)

April 6th – Verizon Theatre At Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX)

April 11th – Verizon Arena (North Little Rock, AR)

April 18th – Monroe Civic Center Arena (Monroe, LA)

April 20th – Greensboro Coliseum Complex (Greensboro, NC)

April 25th – Heartland Events Center (Grand Island, NE)
