The PS4 is looking pretty fantastic.
You can find all the system specs HERE
Along with all the pretty new graphics and processor power, the PS4 will also have a new controller.
The “DualShock 4” comes with all the buttons you’re used to seeing, along with a touch pad, head phone jack, and a share button. The share feature sounds pretty awesome; it allows you to instantly screencap and record what’s happening on your screen to share with all of us out here in Internet Land.
The founder of Gaikai, Dave Perry, boasted, “What we’re creating is the fastest, most powerful gaming network in the world.”
Along with the share feature, other gamers can virtually view your screen and post comments. They can even play for you if you’re really struggling to beat something.
Sony also said that Vita, as well as iOS and Android will be able work as supplemental screens.
It’s expected that games will stay at the $60 price range, but the console itself? There are numbers floating around everywhere, but I think we can expect the PS4 to cost anywhere from $500 – $700, if not more.
The PS4 is set to be released this December.
There isn’t too much actually known about the Xbox 720. Everything floating around on the internet is just speculation and rumor, but it has been revealed that the Xbox 720 crew will be unveiling the new console in April.
It’s almost guaranteed that the Xbox 720 will be making use of IllumiRoom. IllumiRoom uses the Kinect to use your room as an extension of the screen. It supposed to combine the virtual world of the video game with the real world, which sounds pretty awesome.
I’m still waiting for the day when we get virtual reality rooms. Think Holodeck from Star Trek: TNG. How awesome would that be?
We wont know for sure until April, but I expect the release date of the Xbox 720 to also be December 2013.
Don’t forget to check back with us after Microsoft makes their announcement in April for more info on the new Xbox.
So which do you guys prefer? Xbox or Play Station? It’s hard to take sides for the new consoles when the Xbox specs aren’t out yet, but as everything stands right now, which company are you more loyal to?
