If you haven't heard of Heard Well where have you been? Heard Well is a music label powered by various social media influencers with the goal of propelling unknown artists into the spotlight with a feature on a compilation album. The LA based label is founded by YouTube sensation Connor Franta, Andrew Graham, and entrepreneur Jeremy Wineberg.
Since the label launched back in July of last year. Heard Well has made a network of social media stars which includes co-founder Connor Franta and the likes of JC Caylen, Lohanthony and Amanda Steele. The group has released a series of compilations featuring emerging artists. Heardwell is best known for the Common Culture Series (Connor's personal compilations) and Neptones (compiled by Caylen), just to name a few.
The label is ready to go to the next level. It has recently been released that Heard Well has signed a deal with Red Distribution (a division of Sony Music Entertainment).
"To date, Heard Well has been a licensing business," explains co-founder Andrew Graham. "But at the end of the day we want to be in the business of breaking new acts. Our relationship with Red is unique because we have a whole array of products that we can lean into as we start to scale this part of our business."
The deal will grant the growing label label with access to Red's resources in the hopes of building more business of compilations and original artists. In return, Red will gain access to Heard Well's influencers, who have worked with the team previously in order to boost rising musicians with inclusions on compilations.
"The concept for Heard Well has evolved into a team of smart, creative people with impeccable taste who reach millions through their amazing digital marketing strategy," said Red president Bob Morelli. "Red and 'stache media look forward to working with Jeremy, Andrew, Connor and the entire Heard Well team in developing the best new talent in contemporary music."
