Amidst what’s probably the biggest scandal of the 21st century, Kellyanne Conway finally speaks about her own scandal.
According to Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, Conway’s loyalty can be called into question. During her days as Trump’s campaign manager, the MSNBC hosts claimed she hated working for the President. “She would get off the air, the camera would be turned off, the microphone would be taken off and she would say, ‘Blech, I need to take a shower,’ because she disliked her candidate so much,” Brzezinski says. With James Comey spilling the beans on Trump’s memo, the last thing he needs is the news that one of his closest allies is really an enemy in disguise. Conway was quick to address the rumor.
“My beliefs, commitments and loyalties are plain to see. The notion that I am serving for ‘the money’ or a ‘paycheck’ is absurd. As campaign manager, I made a fraction of what other consultants have made on unsuccessful presidential campaigns,” she tweets. As she shames Scarborough and Brzezinski, she continues to talk about how much she believes in Trump and his movement. According to her, she bought what Trump was selling. “I know him, I respect him, I believe in him, and I am confident in his capacity to be a transformative and successful President,” she concludes.
Since she tweeted her own statement, the two hosts have yet to respond. However, the public can decide for themselves.
Right now, Conway and her alleged disloyalty are no match for Trump’s alleged disloyalty to the very country he’s serving.
Whether he was firing Comey or threatening him, Trump’s just making himself look more and more culpable. While the FBI can’t confirm anything, one thing’s for sure. Trump and his team smell fishy, and, unlike Conway, a shower’s not going to fix their problem.
