Fox’s current installment into the X-Men/Wolverine series, The Wolverine opened up on July 26 of this year, and grossed $307 million so far.

Spoiler alert if you haven’t seen the movie: at the end of The Wolverine, we learned that Wolverine will be traveling through time to join up with the rest of the X-Men crew in next year’s film.

This causes a question to arise in many people – how much longer do we have with Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine?

Hugh Jackman’s been playing the iconic role for 13 years now, which is longer than every actor that has portrayed a comic book character. The main question is: will next year’s X-Men installment be Jackman’s last movie as Wolverine?

Hugh Jackman’s contract with Fox Studios is almost up, and the actor has made a statement that just adds to the speculation that his will be his last time unleashing the claws:

“I’m not sure. I wasn’t even sure after the first [stand-alone] film if I would do another. I won’t say never, because I’m still loving it. But there would have to be a pretty compelling reason.”

Rumour has it that Fox is trying to sign him for 4 more movies in the X-Men saga, but no official word from either camp has been released.

Do you think any other actor could replace Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine? Let us know!
