Monday nights just got a whole lot longer. Dancing with the Stars has announced that they are getting rid of the Tuesday night result shows and instead tacking it on to the end of the competition show on Mondays, making it two hours long.
ABC is going to try it this way for the next two seasons. Paul Lee, Entertainment President at ABC said they wanted to “focus” the show to get more viewers.
Another way the show has been trying to get more viewers and even some younger ones is by casting younger competitors. A hot topic for the show this season was that they have the youngest competitor yet, Disney star Zendaya, who is only 16. One of ABC’s other reality shows, The Bachelor, has been focusing on younger casting as well.
ABC thinks all these changes will be good for the show’s ratings, and are even teaming with the producers at BBC to get some more ideas.
Dancing with the Stars wraps up this season next Monday and Tuesday.
