Daniel LaRusso And Johnny Lawrence Face Off In Karate Kid Sequel Trailer

The first teaser for Karate Kid sequel Cobra Kai has dropped and it shows Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence facing off once again after 30 years!

It is finally here, the first teaser for the sequel to the Karate Kid trilogy has dropped. And it shows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) once again facing off against his former rival Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).

The trailer is dripping with nostalgia as it opens with a sweeping shot of Reseda, California, the setting of the original films followed by shots of the All Valley Karate Tournament and then news paper clippings of Daniel LaRusso's iconic win.

It then cuts to modern times with Johnny Lawrence opening his old Cobra Kai dojo and Daniel confronting him in it. The sight of those two reigniting their old rivalry 30 years later will give fans of the Karate Kid movies chills.

The sequel which will be a series instead of a movie is titled Cobra Kai and from what we know so far it may flip the storyline on its head. Daniel is no longer the underdog, as he is now a successful businessman while Johnny who was originally a wealthy bully in highschool is now down on his luck. Which leads him to try to relive his glory days by reopening the dojo, and eventually  mentoring a bullied youth, much like how Daniel was in the first film.

How exciting right? Cobra Kai has no specific release date yet, but is expected to come out later this year on Youtube Red.
