Dave Grohl Makes Fan’s Birthday By Letting Him Play With The Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl made a fan’s birthday wish come true, allowing him up on stage to play drums during a Toronto concert this July.

We’ve all air-drummed to our favourite songs before, right? Well, one lucky fan attending a Foo Fighters gig in Toronto had his birthday dream come true as he was invited up on stage to play live with his idols on July 9th.

Having held up a sign that read: “It’s my birthday, can I play drums?” Anthony Bifolchi probably thought all of his Christmases and birthdays had come at once when Grohl, his leg still in a cast having result of a break suffered after a fall on stage in Sweden last month, called him up and Taylor Hawkins stepped away from his kit.

With a bit of bad language thrown in, Grohl voiced an opinion, declaring to the audience his hopes that the temporary drummer for the evening “doesn’t suck.”

Bifolchi originally wanted to play along to ‘Best Of Me’ but instead was offered ‘Big Me’ since, as Grohl proceeded to describe it:

“It’s the easiest one.”

Fortunately, for the band and everyone else in attendance, the birthday boy did a good job, so much so that he was praised by the front-man who told him:

“That was actually pretty good.”

Video of the performance has since been viewed on YouTube almost half a million times.

Since this performance, the band have announced new UK dates for the shows they had to postpone due to Grohl’s injury. The group will play Milton Keynes National Bowl on September 5 and 6 before heading up north to Edinburgh for a gig at Murrayfield Stadium on September 8.
