A day after Tom Hiddleston graced centre court with his ever-charming and good-looking presence, all eyes were yesterday firmly on David Beckham as, while watching the doubles semi-final that pitted Jamie Murray and John Peers against Jonathan Erlich and Philipp Petzschner, he caught a deflected ball – one handed – to rapturous applause from the spectators while even the players acknowledged the catch.

The ball had bounced of a line-judges’ chair up towards the Royal Box, prompting David Beckham to catch it and throw it back. Ever the humble sportsman, he looked almost embarrassed at the attention his feat achieved, giving the crowd a one handed wave and a nod of his head.
As good as the match was, news outlets unsurprisingly put more attention on Beckham than Murray and his partner Peers who went onto win the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2. Jamie Murray’s brother, Andy today lost his semi-final match against Roger Federer in straight sets 7-5, 7-5, 6-4 and the Swiss former Wimbledon Champion will this weekend go up against Novak Djokovic in search for his eighth Wimbledon title.
