DC Drops ‘Titans’ Trailer

We have more news from SDCC  to share! DC’s new show Titans dropped its first trailer and it is nothing like the cartoon Teen Titans Go. This preview was dark and even had a pretty risque line from Robin (Brenton Thwaites), but we’ll get into more of that in a moment. Check out the trailer below before we get to commentary and news.

Titans’ Executive Producer Geoff Johns has created, possibly the darkest, DC we’ll see on TV. Robin aka Dick Grayson seems to be a cop or lawyer who meets a young girl. She has ‘Grudge Girl’ level scary powers, which makes us almost want to avoid the entire show, but that would just be silly. Her name is Raven (Teagan Croft), and she’s putting herself under Robin’s wing to learn how to control the darkness inside of her. We also see some very cool scenes featuring the other Titans.

The trailer is set to Ruelle’s song ‘Madness’, perfectly balancing out the visuals and audio. She has created some of the best music for TV and movies, or at least, her songs are used for them. Her voice is haunting and wistful adding an extra element to the, already, intense preview of what’s to come.

The most shocking moment in the trailer comes when Robin utters, “Fuck Batman.” We aren’t getting any hints yet about Grayson’s issues with Bruce Wayne, but it’s too big of an element to the show’s core to reveal. Titans will be on DC’s new streaming service exclusively which is why we’re getting such raw language. We are looking forward to this version of DC’s TV, what about you?
