The Disney Vault has reopened!
On August 6, Disney will release The Sword in the Stone, Robin Hood, and Oliver and Company, to a Blu-ray combo pack. Each movie is celebrating an anniversary this year.
The Sword and the Stone is celebrating the biggest milestone, its 50th anniversary. The movie follows a young boy named Wart, whose life is changed after meeting the famous wizard, Merlin and heading on an adventure that includes a sword stuck in stone. The Blu-ray combo pack will include a DVD and digital copy and will have brand new bonus features, offering viewers an alternative opening scene.
Robin Hood is celebrating its 40th anniversary. The retelling of the classic movie will include a deleted storyline called “Love Letters.” There will be a sing-a-long extra. The flick was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Original Song in 1973.
Oliver and Company is the youngest of the three, turning only 25 this year. This film tells the adventures of a little orphaned cat and a dog named Dodger.
Whether you’re seeing the films for the first time, or adding nostalgia to your movie collection, the added features and bumped up quality is a good deal. Disney has been busy bringing their old films to today’s quality and even returning some to the theaters in 3D.
