2015 marked the 60th anniversary for Disneyland in Anaheim, California. For Disney lovers who were never able to make it to the celebration, you are in for a real treat.
Disney is airing a television special entitled, “The Wonderful World Of Disney: Disneyland: 60” and it is said by Variety to be a “star-studded Diamond Anniversary event, both in the heart of Hollywood at the Dolby Theater and throughout some of the most iconic locations at Disneyland Park, including Sleeping Beauty Castle and Main Street USA, as well as Cars Land, a themed area of California Adventure Park.”
Parades and water shows such as “Paint The Night” and the “World Of Color” in California Adventure will be showcased on the special as well.
Walt Disney opened Disneyland back in 1955, and throughout the last 60 years, Disneyland has made countless memories for so many people around the world.
The 60th celebration will began on May 22 last year and will conclude September 5th, so if you would like to attend in person, you’d better start setting up your trip now! The celebration at the park itself will include a breathtaking fireworks experience, contests, special concerts, exclusive merchandise, and new delightful treats in addition to the “Paint The Night” parade and the “World Of Color” spectacular that will be shown on the upcoming special.
A list of performers for the special have yet to be announced, but you can rest assured that PopWrapped will have more coverage as it’s released.
“The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland: 60” will air on Sunday, February 21st at 8/7c on ABC as a two-hour special.
