Disneyland’s Magical Kingdom was evacuated after an explosion happened in the Toontown area of the park early this evening.
Families who were enjoying their time at the park had to cut their evening short after an explosion originated from a trashcan. Although the cause has not been confirmed, the Anaheim PD ascribed it to dry ice reacting inside a plastic bottle, creating a dry-ice bomb.
Anaheim police and fire departments have been examining the area, there have been no injuries reported.
Many park goers took to Twitter to express what they witnessed.
“Something went BOOM in Toontown at Disneyland and now they’re evacuating,” one user wrote.
“Was sitting in Toontown at Disneyland and something exploded in the trash can. I felt sound waves of it and Toontown is closed,” another visitor tweeted.
So far, Disney has not released a statement.
