Lots of lovely new images have been released by the BBC ahead of the next instalment of Doctor Who, “Robot of Sherwood.”
The historical episode, penned by Mark Gatiss, sees the Doctor take Clara to Sherwood Forest, in order to prove that Robin Hood doesn’t exist. Little does he know, they will be faced with the tight-wearing, arrow firing legend.
The official synopsis paints an exciting picture-
“In a sun-dappled Sherwood forest, the Doctor discovers an evil plan from beyond the stars and strikes up an unlikely alliance with Robin Hood. With all of Nottingham at stake, the Doctor must decide who is real and who is fake. Can impossible heroes really exist?”
The new promos give us a glimpse at the Merry Men, and Robin himself, played by heart throb Tom Riley, best known for his role in Da Vinci’s Demons.
Alan-A-Dale (Ian Hallard), Little John (Rusty Goffe), Friar Tuck (Trevor Cooper) and Will Scarlett (Joseph Kennedy) will also appear alongside Ben Miller as a grumpy looking Sheriff of Nottingham.
Series Eight of Doctor Who is off to a great start so far, with the season opener, “Deep Breath” pulling in over 9M viewers.
The episode airs September 6th at 7:30 on BBC One.
