They are literally the most successful female R&B group in history with an astonishing 65 million albums sold worldwide.
Now their story will be told like never before. VH1 just released a teaser trailer for what is being commonly called the TLC biopic, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
If the trailer gives any indication in what to expect from the movie itself, this could be something special.
The film, which focuses on the chart topping careers of TLC, cast rapper Lil Mama as the late Left Eye, Keke Palmer as Chilli and Drew Sidora as T-Boz. Some are calling the casting a near perfect characterization of the successful girl group.
In the first teaser, released on VH1 on Thursday some of the groups biggest music videos are recreated including “Waterfalls” and “No Scrubs.”
TLC garnered instant success when their hit number one song Creep hit the airwaves in 1994. This was followed by a long line of other hits with four Grammy Awards and three Billboard Music Awards. T
he film is executive produced by surviving members Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins.
It will premiere on VH1 on October 21, 2013.
