There’s something really drastic and exciting about someone making a major change to their hair.  Downton Abbey star Rob James-Collier proved this when he sported his newly shaved head at the event “An Evening With Downton Abbey.” The event was held in Los Angeles on June 10th.

Collier, who formerly had thick and floppy hair, rocked a buzz cut on the events red carpet. The Q&A event was held at Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood, reports DigitalSpy.

It looks like there will be a lot less gel required for his character Thomas Barrow in Downton Abbey’s upcoming fourth season.  Although, his hair will be missed.

The 36-year old actor was accompanied by his co-stars Joanne Froggatt, Elizabeth McGovern and Michelle Dockery, and writer and creator Julian Fellowes.

Fans of Collier and the ITV drama can get excited, because the fourth season is currently being filmed. Dockery, who plays the beautiful, confident, and sometimes-conniving Mary Crawley said, “We’re almost halfway through. We’re filming episodes five and six,” reports the LA Times.

She added that Mary will find herself dealing with the aftermath of her husband’s death. She said, “The predicament that Mary’s in now is that she does need to find someone eventually. She has the heir to Downton, and she is under pressure to find someone. In that world, women had to find someone. It was all about marriage and who you’d spend the rest of your life with.”

Spoiler alert: in the Christmas special of the show, Mary’s husband Matthew Crawley endures a fatal car accident, leaving her a widow. Actor Dan Stevens has recently apologized for his characters unfortunate departure.
