For a year, The Weeknd and Bella Hadid exclusively dated. From red-carpet rendezvous to jetting across continents, the couple proudly displayed their love and affection, and in front of the world. The spotlight couldn’t stop their romance, but their heavy workloads put a damper on their passionate affair. The twosome eventually split, and they moved on with their (love) lives. The Weeknd started to see singer-songwriter Selena Gomez, and Hadid began dating rapper Drake.
While the pair seem happier with their new beaus, The Weeknd harbors resentment. He wants to see his woman with anyone but his friend and business associate. “Sources say that Hadid’s romance with the ‘One Dance’ rapper has The Weeknd supposedly feeling a little on the salty side. Many of those close to both Drake and The Weeknd are being forced to ‘pick sides’ when it comes to Drake’s rumored fling with the model,” an article reports.
Talk about an awkward love triangle.
Because Drake violated the most important rule of the “bro code” (Don’t sleep with your friend’s ex!), his lucrative friendship with The Weeknd is in jeopardy. As long as he continues to see Hadid, he continues to spit in The Weeknd’s face. “It’s safe to say that Drake and The Weeknd are at odds right now. Who knows if this new bit of supposed tension will dampen either of their spirits when it comes to hooking up for a musical project,” the article continues.
Before Drake’s newest relationship, he teased his fans with surprising news; he and The Weeknd may collaborate on an album, similar to what Drake made with rapper Future. However, if the rumors and unidentified sources ring true, then the artist’s fan base can forget about any collaboration.
They should expect dis tracks, instead.
